Max

Max 8x10 Acrylic
Today's painting posting is of my son and daughter-in-law's dog, Max.  Max is part miniature poodle & long haired chihuahua.  I believe they call that a Chicapoo.  Every Spring he gets winter coat cut to prepare him for the hot Florida weather.  Of course, Max always wants a Mohawk.

I have wanted to paint Max's portrait for a long time but had some concerns about painting a "white" dog.  Fortunately I was able to attend a Coloriffic workshop with a very talented artist Kimberly Santini.  She has opened my eyes to seeing color differently.  It is wonderful to be an artist and seeing things in a new way.  Today's painting is my first attempt to see color in white animals.  I hope you enjoy an that Max gives you a smile and he does me each time I see him.

Here is the photo that was my inspiration for the painting.
